Our founding principle is keeping it out of the landfill. We re-use normal everyday items to create something unique. We repair or rehab old, outdated furniture and decor into something fresh and new. But then there is our love for the eclectic vintage items that just may need to be shined up. And the love we have for any and all things unique.

Paul is a Marquette High, LCCC and Quincy alum. Grew up playing all sports but focused on baseball. Found he really enjoyed swinging a hammer for a living and started Hellrung Home Improvement in 1996. Paul handles the carpentry/repairs and most of the big power tools. He is also the muscle and the hauler.
Christy graduated from Alton High and attended LCCC also. Has had a few different job backgrounds but her use of her creativity was always first. Christy runs the business, paints and creates as just some of her many rolls.
Our location has been in Paul's family since 1937. The location has been Hellrung Insurance, Taxes and Real Estate among other things. The business was sold in 2005 and moved in 2017 opening the perfect up and coming spot to try something new.
On a cold, rainy Friday in October of 2018, she opened her shop for the first time. So far surviving complete street closures and the COVID pandemic the rest has been history.
